ST. CLAIR COUNTY — Capac Schools’ Operating Millage renewal, plus two county-wide proposals, were
supported by voters in the August 4 primary election.

The schools’ millage passed by a 1,154 to 876 margin according to the unofficial results. Both St. Clair County’s roads and Drug Task Force renewals were approved by significant margins.

Mike Lauwers has earned another term as Mussey Township Supervisor. The same can be said for current trustees Bruce Downey and Monica Standel. Deborah Lewis defeated sitting treasurer Terry Geliske in the Republican primary.

Gary Eisen, the 81st District State Representative, fended off a primary challenge from fellow Republican
John Mahaney. He’ll face Deb Bourgois, a Democrat, in the November general election.

Shane Hernandez got the most votes in St. Clair County but Lisa McLain topped the field of three in the 10th Congressional primary that stretched over several counties in the Thumb. He conceded the race to McLain in a statement posted to his Facebook page on Wednesday morning. Kimberly Bizon got the
most votes on the Democratic side of the ballot and will face off against McLain in November.
