TRI-CITY AREA — On Thursday, the health department reported the addition of 20 additional COVID-19 cases since Monday.
Director Kathy Haskins said just over half that number are “the result of testing migrant farm workers this past week and most likely originated from outside the county, although we cannot confirm that at this time.”
The other confirmed cases include residents from around the county, varying in age from their 20s to 70s.
Lapeer County now has 299 confirmed cases, 63 probable cases and 172 are considered recovered. There have been no additional deaths in the past week and that number stands at 31.
In St. Clair County, 16 new cases has been reported between Monday and Wednesday of this week but there were no additional deaths.
In that same time span, the county’s number of active cases grew from 61 to 71.
