Michel Coucke, 84, of Marlette, MI died Monday, July 13, 2020 at Angelic Gardens AFC of Lum, MI. Michel Coucke was born July 22, 1935 in Isaghem, Belgium. He was the son of the late Valere and the late Marguerite (VanDamme) Coucke. Michel grew up and attended school in Belgium until the late 1940s when he moved to Canada. In the 1950s Michel moved to Detroit, MI before moving north of Berville, MI where he has resided since.

He was employed as building maintenance by General Motors – Warren Tech Center for 30 years before retiring. Michel loved his grandchildren and working on his yard and cars.

Michel is survived by his companion of 35 years, Elizabeth Hanel; two daughters, Teresa (Bill) Richey of Imlay City, MI and Elaine (David) Atkinson of Ray, MI; his two sons, Steve (Marge) Coucke of Allenton, MI and David (Lisa) Coucke of Round Rock, TX; two sisters, Andrea Verneesch and Diane Elsholz; four brothers, Jerry Coucke, Andrew Coucke, Joe Coucke and Bob Coucke; his ten grandchildren, Camille Rogers, Shelbi Page, Christopher (Jaimie) Coucke, Jennifer (Ryan Hosner) Coucke, Dr. Ethan (Caitlyn Schiller) Coucke, Allison (Alex Rhodes) Coucke, Ann Coucke, Emma Coucke, Mallory (Ben Alemon) Atkinson and Trevor Atkinson; and his two great-grandchildren, Gage Witherow and Connor Witherow.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Coucke; his daughters, Linda and Nancy Coucke; and his brother, Marcel Coucke.
Cremation has taken place. A graveside memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, July 25, 2020 at West Berlin Cemetery, Holmes Rd., Allenton, MI. Rev. Fr. Mike Gawlowski, pastor of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, will officiate.

Arrangements were entrusted to Muir Brothers Funeral Home, 225 N. Main Street, Imlay City, MI.
