Leticia (Tish) Stroebel passed away June 18, 2020 at the age of 86. She was born on March 8, 1934 to Blair and Wanda C. Johnson in Steubenville, OH. She was the oldest of four children and proudly grew up a ‘mountaineer’ in West Virginia. After high school she ventured to Washington D.C. to continue her education and then worked for U.S. Representative Edna Kelly on Capitol Hill. It was there she met Robert (Bob) Stroebel who was Alvin Bentley’s legislative assistant. They married on April 5, 1957. They moved to Saginaw, MI where Bob set up his law practice and Tish kept her West Virginia roots dear, while quickly becoming an active part of the Saginaw community. She held leadership roles in Junior League of Saginaw, Child and Family Services and Lawyers Auxiliary. She was active in all activities of their two daughters and in all those things was the ‘fun’ mom. Her style, her friendship and her zeal for life will be remembered and missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by daughters, Cynthia K. Stroebel of Imlay City and Susan (Pasquale) Iaderosa of Rochester Hills, MI; her beloved grandchildren, Marisa, Lara, Benjamin and Paolo; sister, Nancy McConaghy; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her loving husband of 60 years, Robert; her parents; and her brother, Robert W. Johnson.
A true ‘celebration’ of her life will take place at a later date when we can gather safely.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial gifts to Gift of Life Transplant House of Rochester, MN, Castle Museum of Saginaw County History or the charity of your choice.
