As many of you know, I am retiring as your City Manager on June 30. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the citizens of Imlay City for your support during my six years here.
Imlay City is a special place with great people. Time and time again you have rallied in support of people and families in need. This is rare in most communities and something that we should recognize and celebrate. Your support in our city can be illustrated by passage of three millages over the last six years—the road millage in 2016, the fire hall millage in 2019 and the recent Imlay City School bond proposal last November. Again, you do not see this level of support in other communities and the results of this can and will be shown in the quality of facilities and infrastructure that we have.
Personally, I would like to thank Mayor Walt Bargen and Mayor Joi Kempf for their leadership and dedication over my years here. I have also been fortunate to work with supportive city commissioners during my time here. All have shared a vision of our city to make it the best it can be and we are a much better community for their service.
Also, I want to thank all of the department heads and employees I have had the privilege to work with during my time here. I can assure you that all of our employees are dedicated to serving you with great care and concern in meeting your needs.
Finally, I want to thank my wife Kay who has been so supportive to me not only for my six years here, but for my entire public service career of 36 years.
It has truly been an honor for me to serve you and try to make Imlay City a better place today than when I started in 2014.
Kay and I wish nothing but the best for Imlay City in the future and we look forward to staying in touch with all of our friends here!
