Sibyl Rabert, 92, of Almont, MI died peacefully, Wednesday, June 17, 2020, surrounded by her loving family, at her home. Sibyl Veronica Bowns was born October 17, 1927 in Montrose, MI. She was the daughter of the late Thomas and the late Jeannie (Jordan) Bowns. Sibyl grew up near Clio, MI. She was a graduate of Clio High School, Class of 1945. Sibyl majored in art at the Art Institute Inc. and earned a degree in 1947. She married Frederick Peter Rabert on September 17, 1949 in Birch Run, MI. Sibyl and Fred have lived on the Rabert farm since their marriage. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred, on March 21, 1979.
She was employed as a quality control inspector for Balock Industries in Leonard, MI until her retirement in 1997. Sibyl worked as a quality control inspector for Interstate Plastics in Romeo for a few years around 1968 and for A/C Delco in Flint for a period of time.
Sibyl is survived by three daughters, Diane Humbach of Waterford, MI, Lisa Rabert of Almont, MI, and Lavonne (Mike) Woodall of Attica, MI; her two sons, Fred (Roberta) Rabert of Las Cruses, NM and Michael Rabert of Almont, MI; 11 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Jeannie Bowns; and recently, her son, Wayne Rabert.
A Funeral Mass was held Saturday, June 20, 2020 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 700 Maple Vista, Imlay City, MI. Reverend Fr. Noel Cornelio, pastor of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, officiated. Interment followed at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Imlay City.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Imlay City, 225 N. Main Street, Imlay City, MI.
