Phyllis Barth, 85, of Zephyrhills, FL went home to the Lord on June 12, 2020, surrounded by family. Phyllis was born October 20, 1934, the first of three children born to (the late) Fannie and George Hopkins. She grew up in Lapeer, MI. In the summer of 1952, Phyllis went on a blind date with Bud Barth of Capac. They fell in love and were married on April 11, 1953. Phyllis and Bud lived in Capac until they retired in 1985. In 1989, they purchased a home in Zephyrhills, FL to live out their retirement years.
Phyllis, in addition to raising a family, enjoyed bowling, family get-togethers and playing cards. She also enjoyed working at Champion Home Builders in Capac for 15 years. In her later years, she adored seeing and playing with her six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Phyllis is survived by her husband of 67 years, Bernard G. Barth of Zephyrhills, FL; son, Larry Barth of Deckerville, MI; daughters, Cathy (Terry) Long of Harrison Township, MI and Tammy (Brett) Allen of Fair Oaks Ranch, TX; six grandchildren, Tim (Sarah) Barth of Attica, MI, Matt (Jean) Barth of Rochester, MN, Kyle Long of Farmington Hills, MI, Megan (Mike) Prainito of St. Clair Shores, MI, Morgan Withun of Madison Heights, MI and Robert Allen of Lubbock, Texas; six great-grandchildren; brother Franklin (Irene) Hopkins of Elverta, CA; sister-in-law Bernice Hopkins of Imlay City, MI as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Roland Hopkins; brothers-in-law Henry (Maxine) Barth, Robert (Beth) Barth and sisters-in-law, Doris (John) Roy and Helen (Ken) Teetzel.
Cremation has taken place. A private memorial service will be at a later date.
