Carol VanderPloeg, 77, of Imlay City, MI died Sunday, June 21, 2020 at Advantage Living Center of Armada, MI. Carol Jean Minier was born January 12, 1943 in Pontiac, MI. She was the daughter of the late Bill and the late Irene (Littlefair) McSpadin. She grew up in the Rochester, MI area. Carol was a graduate of Rochester High School. She married Bennie VanderPloeg. Carol has lived in Imlay city for 45-plus years.

She was mostly a homemaker, raising her family. Carol worked as an aide at several adult foster care facilities in the Imlay City area.

Carol is survived by her sisters, Janet Adams of Rochester Hills, MI, Donna McConnell of Tennessee and Barb Yeager of Davisburg, MI; and her two brothers, Larry McSpadin of Hersey, MI and Mike McSpadin of St. Clair, MI. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Isis Kloss, Mikayla (Cody) Stockwell, Nathan Kloss and Jacob Kloss; and her great-grandchildren, Natalie, Gage, Levi and Bentley.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bennie VanderPloeg; her daughters, Joy Lyn VanderPloeg and Dena Kinney; and her sister, Diane Pritcher.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial is not planned at this time.

Arrangements were entrusted to Muir Brothers Funeral Home, 225 N. Main Street, Imlay City, MI.
