Imlay City commissioners are encouraging reopening businesses to take advantage of a window of opportunity to promote their businesses by placing “Reopened for Business” signs at their businesses and still be compliant with the city’s sign ordinance. In essence, the city is allowing businesses to post such signage at their buildings for up to 30 consecutive days without having to file for a permit from the city. The measure is intended to be assistive to businesses downtown and citywide that have been affected by COVID-19 shutdowns.
