Karen Louise Hawks, age 75, of Livingston, TX passed away Thursday, May 14, 2020 at Corner- stone Rehab Hospital in Bossier City, LA from complications related to pancreatitis. Karen L. Hawks was born on July 12, 1944 in Memphis, MI. She was the daughter of the late Bill and Norma Zaetsch. She married Lawrence A. Hawks on December 29, 1962 in Capac, MI. She grew up in Capac and was a graduate of Capac High School, class of 1962. After moving to Louisiana, she completed a degree in computer programming at Sowela Technical Collage in 1983. She enjoyed painting, cooking and traveling.

Karen is survived by her husband of 57 years, Lawrence A. Hawks of Livingston, TX; sons, Lawrence (Brenda) Hawks Jr. of Vivian, LA and Byron (Kim) Hawks of Shreveport, LA; daughter, Tina Hawks of Pigeon Forge, TN; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brothers, Andy (Margret) Zaetsch of Imlay City and Glenn (Marlene) Zaetsch of Imlay City; sister, Mary (Cecil) Grosskopf of Capac; and brother-in-law, Clifford Gordon of Croswell, MI.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Connie Gordon.

Karen was a fun-loving and lively wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed.

Her wishes were to be cremated without a viewing and the family is planning a memorial ceremony at a later date.
