ALMONT — Macomb’s Lauren Bobowski, a Dakota High School graduate, finished her debut campaign with the Harvard University women’s softball team recently.
The freshman out-
fielder wound up with eight hits in 28 official trips to the plate, leaving her with a batting
average of .286. Her assortment of hits included six singles, a double and an inside the park home run (against Gardner Webb on February 29).
Bobowski finished with a .394 on-base percentage and a .429 slugging percentage.
She also contributed eight runs, five walks, three stolen bases and two RBI to Harvard’s cause.
Bobowski started all 10 of Harvard’s contests.
With her help, Harvard fashioned a 6-4 mark before the team’s season was called off due to concerns about the coronavirus pandemic.
Lauren is the daughter of Jennifer (Kott) Bobowski, a 1988 graduate of Almont High School.
