CAPAC — Capac’s Lilly Rodriguez inked a pact to become a part of the St. Clair County Community College women’s cross country team recently.
She attracted their attention by enjoying a 2019 campaign laden with accomplishments. Rodriguez was at her swiftest when she provided a 21:43.1 time en route to a 23rd at a Division 3 regional contested at Goodells County Park on Saturday, October 26.
The senior also claimed a seventh during the Greater Thumb Conference East Meet hosted by Laker High School; obtained a ninth at the North Branch-based Lapeer County Press Invitational; furnished an 18th at the Marysville Invitational; notched a 26th at the Brown City Invitational; collected a 29th at the Algonac at the Muskrat Classic; supplied a 33rd at the Ubly Invitational; obtained a 43rd at Wagener Park Invitational; managed a 50th at the Holly/Duane Raffin Festival of Races; plus added a 57th at the Thumb Area Cross Country Championship in Caro.
Kevin Kissane has been covering high school sports for the Tri-City Times since 1985. When not standing on a field or court with his camera and notepad, he enjoys golf, travel and family.
