Katherine “Kathy” Childers, age 70, of Imlay City, MI died Tuesday, March 24, 2020 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Katherine Jean Green was born March 16, 1950 in Pontiac, MI. She was the daughter of the late Lester Merle and the late Betty Jean (Martin) Green. She grew up in the Romeo and Washington Township areas. Kathy attended school in Romeo, MI. She married Porter James Childers, Jr. on June 21, 1986 in Imlay City, MI.
She was a homemaker, raising her family. Kathy enjoyed Hay Day Game Day with her friends.
Kathy is survived by her husband, Porter Childers, Jr.; four daughters, Florine (Bob) Daffin of Georgia, Shawn Lynn High of Imlay City, MI, Stefanie Hoffner of Imlay City, MI and Cristal (David) Smith of Dryden, MI; two sisters, Nancy Domanski and Ruth Berger; her two brothers, Leroy Green and Michael Green. Also surviving are her eight grandchildren, Josie Daffin, Michael Smith, Jr., Emma August High, Jamie Morse, Dylan Morse, Ty Stine, Desiree Morse, Lily Smith; and her great-grandchild: Rowen Michael Smith.
Cremation has taken place. The family is planning a private family memorial which will take place in the near future.
