Lapeer County Board of Commissioner Chairman Gary Roy, along with Emergency Management Director Mary Piorunek declared a Local State of Emergency for Lapeer County today, March 13. Although Lapeer County does not have any confirmed cases of COVID-19 as of this writing, we are not immune to it happening here. This declaration will allow us to leverage any resources we may need to request from the State, allowing us to quickly assist our residents should the coronavirus spread to our community.

We ask that the public stay alert to symptoms of COVID-19: fever of 100.4 or higher, cough and/or shortness of breath. If any develop, stay at home and promptly call a healthcare provider or hospital prior to arriving so that the appropriate preventive measures can be put in place.
