Larry Harrison, age 63, of Imlay City, MI died suddenly Friday, February 28, 2020 at McLaren Lapeer Region of Lapeer, MI. Larry Duane Harrison was born July 19, 1956 in Almont, MI. He was the son of the late Donald and the late Virgia (Tedford) Harrison. He grew up in the Imlay City area and attended Imlay City High School. He married Charlene “Sissy” Myers in 1974 in Lapeer, MI.
Larry retired from the General Motors Assembly Plant in Pontiac, MI, after many years working as an assembly line worker and welder. Larry enjoyed working around his home, watching and feeding the birds, turkeys, and deer that wandered across his farm.
He is survived by his wife, Charlene “Sissy” Harrison of Imlay City; his sons, Richard “R.J.” Harper of Imlay City, MI and Brandon (Jayne) Harrison of Pittsburgh, PA; sisters, Janet Miller of Lapeer, MI, Barbara (Jim) Nighswander of Luzerne, MI, Carol Westbrook of Imlay City, MI, JoAnn Wetherford of Lake Orion, MI, Donna (Jerry) Goulette of Port Huron, MI, Mary Strickland of Louisville, KY; brothers, Jerry Harrison of Kalkaska, MI and Richard (Dawn) Harrison of Imlay City, MI; sisters-in-law, Bonnie Harrison and Katrina Johnson. Larry was preceded in death by a son, Justin Harrison (October 4, 2002); his parents, Don and Virgia Harrison; his parents-in-law, Jack and Betty Myers; a brother, Jim Harrison; and two sisters, Beverly Ryan and Margaret McKim.
The memorial service was held as a part of the 11 a.m. Sunday morning church service, March 1, 2020, at the Lapeer Community of Christ Church, 2062 W. Oregon Rd., Lapeer, MI. Pastor Steve Qualman officiated.
