In reference to Tom Janicki’s Feb. 12 letter “Ethics and politics have diverged,” I would say the war on President Trump just doesn’t end. Most Americans are sick and tired of Democrat’s anti-Trump rhetoric, and this has shown forth in recent upticks in the president’s approval ratings.
Why praise Mitt Romney? He ran for president and was derailed over an incident involving his dog in a car carrier and he didn’t have the “guts” to defend himself. Even the great George Romney had presidential aspirations until he claimed he was “duped” in supporting the Vietnam War. Sometimes honesty doesn’t work in politics. Mitt Romney can’t cut it as a major political number.
I’m reminded of the caricature of the old Civil War rebel soldier with sword and gun in hand saying “Forget, Hell” No! Life goes on.
