ALMONT — Almont downed visiting Yale, 50-43, in a Blue Water Area Conference varsity boys’ basketball contest last Friday night.
With the decision, Almont moves to 5-3 and 3-1.
In Friday’s contest, Almont spotted Yale a 13-4 advantage after one quarter was over with.
The middle two quarters saw Almont generate 34 total points and Yale net 22, leaving the former up 38-35 with 24 minutes gone.
Almont then outscored Yale 12-8 the rest of the way, good for a 50-43 win at night’s end.
Gabe Bourdeau (16 points, including a pair of trifectas) and Bret Wrobel (14) led Almont that evening. They were backed by Charlie Koenig (nine, featuring three treys), Joey Savel (nine, with a pair of triples) and Colby Schapman (two).
