Marion M. Wayco, age 98, a longtime resident of Almont, passed away Friday, January 10, 2020 surrounded by family and loved ones. Marion was born July 28, 1921 in Newton, KS. She graduated from Lapeer High School. She married Joseph W. Wayco, September 27, 1942. She was employed at Hurd Lock in Almont and then went to work at Hamill Manufacturing in Romeo. She also worked at Firestone in Romeo and Imlay City and then worked at TRW in Washington until she retired in 1986. Marion was also a member of St. John Catholic Church in Allenton and was the recording secretary for the UAW Local 471 for 20 years.
Marion is survived by her daughter, Patsy (Arland) Rayl of Almont; and son, Paul (Robin) Wayco of Almont. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Thomas Rayl of Almont, Joseph (Hilary) Rayl of Bruce Township, Kevin (Wendi) Rayl of Sandusky, Paula (Kevin) Simpson of Fenton, Nicole (Kenny) Stott of Dryden, Samantha (Mike) Grone of Brown City and Sean Fitzgerald of Almont, and her great-grandchildren; James, Lucas, Rochele, Courtnie, Jacob, Owen, Eva, Anderson, Brody, Gage, Alyvia and Wyatt.
She is also survived by her brother, Harold (Edith) Johnson of Newton, KS, and three sisters, Mae Deane Blankley of Peabody, KS, Lois (Fred) Rappuhn of Irons, MI and Joyce (Jim) Parsons of Las Vegas, NV.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Minnie Wunderlich and Barclay Johnson; husband, Joseph Wayco; brothers, Richard Johnson and Eddie Johnson; sister, Imogene Rimbey; and great-granddaughter, infant Tess Lauren Rayl.
Visitation will be Tuesday, January 14, 2020 from 3 to 8 p.m. at Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Almont and on Wednesday from 9 to 10 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church in Allenton with Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Ferguson Cemetery in Almont.
