CAPAC — Capac made visiting Marlette absorb a 56-43 loss in a Greater Thumb Conference varsity boys’ basketball confrontation last Friday night.
With the outcome, Capac improves to 2-4 and 1-0.
In Friday’s confrontation, Capac spotted Marlette a 10-7 edge after one quarter was done.

Quarter two saw Capac amass 28 points and Marlette net 13, leaving the former up 35-23 at the halftime break.
When the action resumed, Capac continued to pull away. Aided by a 12-4 third quarter edge, the Chiefs widened the gap to 47-27 with 24 minutes gone.
Capac then withstood a 16-9 fourth quarter rally, prevailing 56-43 at night’s end.
Joe Montney (17, including a trifecta) and Ben Laskowski (12) led Capac with double digit point totals. Hank Barker (nine points), Ryan Orlando (eight, featuring a pair of treys), Kayden Braun (eight) and Dan Parski (two) supported their performances.
Capac also received 18 rebounds from Laskowski.
