TRI-CITY AREA — Almont rolled past visiting Imlay City, 64-14, in a Blue Water Area Conference varsity boys’ basketball meeting on Tuesday, January 7.
With the outcome, Almont improves to 3-3 and 1-1. Imlay City drops to 4-2 and 1-1.
In Tuesday’s meeting, Almont bolted out to an 18-1 advantage after one quarter was over with.Quarter two saw Almont deposit 29 points through the twines and Imlay City manage six, widening the gap to 47-7 at the halftime break.
When the action resumed, Almont struck with a 6-3 third quarter advantage. That increased their cushion to 53-10 with 24 minutes elapsed.
Almont then outscored Imlay City 11-4 the rest of the way, putting the finishing touches on a 64-14 win.
Joey Savel (17, including three trifectas) Gabe Bourdeau (13, featuring three treys) and Charlie Koenig (11, with three triples) led Almont with double digit point totals. The Raiders also had Grady Nash (eight points), Colby Schapman (six), Brenden Haldeman (five) plus Blake Campbell and Scott Pape (two each) reach the scoring column.
Raymond Liu paced Imlay City with six points. He was backed by Andrew Badder (four points), Hunter Medrano (two) plus Jager Land and Parker Lewis (one apiece).
