CAPAC — The Capac varsity girls’ basketball team fell by a 33-22 count to Cass City at the Holiday Showcase last Friday.
St. Clair County Community College, in Port Huron, is where the action unfolded.
With the result, Capac falls to 1-6 this season.
In Friday’s contest, Capac spotted Cass City an 11-6 advantage after one quarter was done.
Quarter two would see Cass City deposit 12 points through the twines and Capac generate eight, leaving the former up by a 23-14 count at the halftime break.
When the action resumed, Cass City continued to pull away. Aided by a 10-2 third quarter advantage, the Red Hawks increased their cushion to 33-16 with 24 minutes elapsed.
Capac then outscored Cass City 6-0 the rest of the way, only to drop a 33-22 outcome when the clock zeroed out for the final time.
Natalie Maday led Capac with a 16-point performance. The Chiefs also had Jona Mullin, Juliana Closurdo and Gabriela Hernandez (two apiece) reach the scoring column.
