Wow! The 2019 Winter Playground event was a fabulous start to the holiday season here in Imlay City.
On December 7 our gracious downtown businesses hosted hundreds of guests for a fun night of crafts for children and adults alike, face painting booths, several warming stations, reading posts with special guests such as Mrs. Claus, Chief Pike, Elsa and Anna from Frozen.
Winter Playground attendees enjoyed wagon rides through our picturesque downtown, marshmallow roasting, writing letters to Santa, as well as many gifts and giveaways from our roaming reindeer friend.
The evening culminated with the Light-Up Imlay City Parade, hailing the coming of the magical man in the red suit, Santa Claus himself. Children excitedly waited to tell Santa their secret wishes while being entertained by Silly Me The Clown.
The Imlay City Downtown Development Authority and Imlay City Chamber of Commerce would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to our sponsors this year, as they are the wings that allow this event to take flight. Many thanks to Springfield Industries, Liebler Agency, Tri-County Bank, Vintech Industries and Imlay City Rotary.
We also extend our warmest gratitude to the downtown businesses that hosted a craft, warming station or activity. Each of you are our wheels on the ground that make everything run smoothly. So very grateful for The Happy Little Quilt Shop, Mobile Repair Zone, Third Street Lofts, 123 Escape Room, Ruth Hughes Memorial Library, Barbara Yockey Law Offices, Edward Jones, Eden’s Attic, The Print Shop, King & King CPAs, CC’s Computers, Doug Halabicky State Farm, Joe Candela, Meraki Styles Salon, Urban Tactics and Total Urgent Care.
