Richard Sucura, age 75, of Imlay City, MI died Monday, November 18, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Richard Gordon Sucura was born July 20, 1944 in Wales, England. He was the son of the late Samuel and the late Ethel (Jones) Sucura. Richard grew up in Hazel Park, MI. He was a graduate of Hazel Park High School. He married Earldeen Sue Wythe on September 12, 1964 in Parma, OH. He was preceded in death by his wife, Earldeen, on July 6, 2016. Richard and Earldeen moved to the Imlay City area in 1976.
He was employed as a machinist by General Motors at the Hamtramck Forge Plant in Detroit, MI for 30 years before retiring. Richard and Earldeen owned and operated Sucura Lock & Key in Imlay City in the mid 1980s.
Richard was a member of the Imlay City Free and Accepted Masonic Lodge, Lapeer Moose Lodge, Imlay City Eagles and the American Legion.
He is survived by four daughters, Cathie (Alfred) Kozfkay of Croswell, MI, Leisa (Frantz) Sturm of Blanchard, MI, Susan (David) Sump of Brown City, MI and Patty Louk of Silverwood, MI; two sisters, Maryann Sucura-Raad of Sterling Heights, MI and Jacqueline Broadbeck of Sterling Heights, MI; two brothers, Peter Sucura of Lake City, MI and William Sucura of Lake City, MI; 11 grandchildren; and his 11 great-grandchildren.
Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Earldeen Sucura; son, Richard Gordon Sucura; and his two sisters, Cynthia St. John and June Sucura.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, November 22, 2019 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Imlay City, 225 N. Main Street, Imlay City, MI. Pastor Barry Sheldon, pastor of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, will officiate. Interment will take place at White Chapel Cemetery, in Troy, MI.
The family will be available for visitation from 2-5 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., Thursday, November 21, 2019 and 10-11 a.m., Friday, November 22 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Imlay City.
