TRI-CITY AREA — From start to finish, these athletes set the standard for excellence.
Here is a look at who gained selection to the 2019 edition of the Tri-City Times All-Area boys’ cross country squad and the credentials they generated en route:
Ronny Hudson, Dryden.
Hudson posted a Tri-City Area best time of 17:02.5 en route to a sixth at the Caro-based Thumb Area Cross Country Championship on Saturday, October 19.
The senior took third at the Holly/Duane Raffin Festival of Races and Linden Cross Country Classic; placed sixth at the Thumb Area Cross Country Championship in Caro; obtained an eighth at the Hanson’s Invitational; contributed a 14th during a Division 4 regional contested at Wagener Park; provided 15ths at the Running Fit Detroit Titan Invitational in Northville and Oxford Invitational; collected a 19th at the Mustang Invitational in Northville; plus added a 97th at the Division 4 state meet contested at Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn.
Breydon Andrez. Imlay City.
Andrez registered a clocking of 17:54.4 for 19th Tuesday, October 15 at the Blue Water Area Conference League Meet.
Castle Creek Golf Course, in Lum, is where the meet was contested.
The senior took 15th at the North Branch-based Lapeer County Press Invitational; generated a 17th at the Genesee Invitational; ranked 18th at the Birch Run Fall Invitational; pulled up 19th during the Blue Water Area Conference League Meet contested at Castle Creek Golf Course in Lum; obtained 26ths at a Goodells County Park-based Blue Water Area Conference Jamboree Meet as well as a Blue Water Area Conference Jamboree Meet hosted by North Branch High School; managed a 28th at the Thumb Area Cross Country Championship in Caro; supplied a 32nd during a Division 2 regional at Goodells County Park; garnered a 51st at the Wagener Park Invitational; placed 59th at the Autumn Classic; collected a 60th at the Oxford Invitational; plus added a 75th at the Corunna Early Bird Invitational.
Charlie Aldrich, Capac.
Aldrich logged a time of 18:01 en route to a seventh at a Division 3 regional meet on Saturday, October 26.

The senior obtained a third at the Greater Thumb Conference East League Meet hosted by Laker High School; registered a seventh during a Division 3 regional contested at Goodells County Park; collected a 17th at the Holly/Duane Raffin Festival of Races; notched a 29th at the Ubly Invitational; generated a 42nd at the Lapeer County Press Invitational in North Branch; supplied a 48th at the Caro-based Thumb Area Cross Country Championship; managed a 54th at the Marysville Invitational; provided a 67th at the Wagener Park Invitational; plus added a 219th during the Division 3 state finals at Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn.
Reed Hall, Dryden.
Hall supplied a clocking of 18:13.4 for 22nd Saturday, October 26 during a Division 4 regional contested at Wagener Park.
The junior collected a 17th at the Hanson’s Invitational; registered a 19th at the Holly/Duane Raffin Festival of Races; took 22nd during a Division 4 regional at Wagener Park; pulled up 27th at the Linden Cross Country Classic; obtained a 42nd at the Thumb Area Cross Country Championship in Caro; furnished a 94th at the Northville-based Mustang Invitational as well as the Oxford Invitational; plus provided a 206th at the Running Fit Detroit Mercy Titans Cross Country Invitational in Northville.
Mason Wildie, Imlay City.
Wildie managed a time of 18:17.2 en route to a 34th at a Division 2 regional on Saturday, October 26.

Swantek generated a clocking of 18:17.6 for 17th Saturday, October 26 at a Division 3 regional.

Barker supplied a clocking of 18:28.9 for 33rd Wednesday, October 9 at the Ubly Invitational.
The senior claimed sixth at the Greater Thumb Conference East League Meet hosted by Laker High School; obtained 13th at the North Branch-based Lapeer County Press Invitational; collected a 26th during a Division 3 regional contested at Goodells County Park; placed 28th at the Wagener Park Invitational; supplied a 33rd at the Ubly Invitational; contributed a 42nd at the Marysville Invitational; generated a 43rd at the Algonac Muskrat Classic; provided a 62nd at the Brown City Invitational; wound up 65th at the Holly/Duane Raffin Festival of Races; plus added a 90th at the Thumb Area Cross Country Championship in Caro.
John Schoen, Capac.
Schoen posted a time of 18:30.2 en route to a 21st during a Division 3 regional on Saturday, October 26.

Coach of the Year- For directing Capac to a first at the Greater Thumb Conference East League Meet and a fourth at a Division 3 regional, Terry Geliske earns Tri-City Times All-Area Coach of the Year accolades.
