Spartans outrun the rest of league

TRI-CITY AREA — The Imlay City girls’ cross country team claimed a first-place finish at the Blue Water Area Conference League Meet on Tuesday, October 15.

Imlay City’s pacesetting output was 57 points. Cros-Lex took second, aided by a 60-point total, and Yale tallied 73 for third. They were followed by Richmond (125 points), Almont (141), North Branch (143), Armada (146), Algonac (176).
Jessica Denver, fourth, 20:03.24; logged the swiftest Imlay City time that day. She was backed by McKinzie Winget, sixth, 20:27.32; Elizabeth Sliman, 12th, 20:55.28; Sydney Kapushinski, 16th, 21:23.4; and Mary Kaminski, 19th, 22:14.17.
Katrina Kline, 17th, 21:56.34; paced Almont. The Raiders also counted results from Emily Kwierant, 25th, 22:44.4; Molly Kline, 28th, 22:53.46; Heather Fitchett, 34th, 23:23,81; and Alyssa Serra, 40th, 23:47.38.
