Karren Deming, age 77, of Lapeer, MI died Monday, September 30, 2019 at home surrounded by her loving family.  Karren Evonne Johnson was born June 16, 1942 in Lapeer, MI. She was the daughter of the late Earl and the late Joyce (Watson) Johnson. Karren grew up in Lapeer. She was a graduate of Lapeer High School, Class of 1960. She lived most of her life in the Imlay City, Lum, and Lapeer areas.   She married Carl Alton Deming on October 19, 1963 in Lapeer, Michigan.
She was employed as the Director of Ruth Hughes Memorial Library in Imlay City, MI for 10-plus years. Karren was also a farmer’s wife, helping with all the chores that needed to be done daily around the farm.
She enjoyed community and family history, crocheting, quilting and sewing.  She was a leader of the Imlay City Historical Museum.  Karren liked to spend time along Lake Huron in Port Sanilac,
MI.
Karren is survived by her husband, Carl Deming; two daughters, Cristy (Arthur) Stephens of Brown City, MI and Carla (Gary) Jepsen of Imlay City, MI; her son, Craig Deming of Imlay City, MI; one sister, Linda (Charles) Boerner of Greenville, MI; and one brother, Richard (Diana) Johnson of Myrtle Beach, SC. Karren also had six grandchildren, Emily Jepsen, Kimberly (Ryan Barren) Deming, Joel (Hannah) Jepsen, Craig Alan Deming, Katelin Stephens, and Hunter Stephens.
Karren was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Joyce Johnson.
