TRI-CITY AREA — The Imlay City and Almont girls’ cross country teams pulled up second and third, respectively, at the Lapeer County Meet on Tuesday, September 17.
Bad Axe edged Imlay City, 56 points to 58, for team honors. They were followed by Almont (86 points), North Branch (111), Lapeer (141), Mayville (151), Ubly (158), Marlette (165) and Brown City (203).

Jessica Denver helped Imlay City place second at the Lapeer County Meet.
Capac also participated but did not field a complete squad.
Jessica Denver, fourth, 20:30.4; led Imlay City that day. The Spartans also counted results from McKinzie Winget, sixth, 21:11.84; Sydney Kapushinski, 11th, 22:32.17; Vicki McTaggart, 21st, 23:47.54; and Kaylee Kaminski, 22nd, 23:51.02.
Katrina Kline, 12th, 22:47.79; paced Almont. She was backed by Emily Kwierant, 13th, 23:01.33; Molly Kline, 16th, 23:12.23; Heather Fitchett, 18th, 23:26.05; and Alyssa Serra, 38th, 26:00.17.
Lilly Rodriguez, ninth, 21:56.97; led Capac. Isabella Aldrich, 43rd, 26:44.15; Gracie Barker, 52nd, 27:29.72; and Madelaine Dietrich, 72nd, 31:45.86; rounded out the Chiefs’ four-runner contingent.
