Carol Winslow, age 89, of Imlay City, MI died Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at home surrounded by her family. Carol Yvonne Pine was born November 13, 1929 in Almont, MI. She was the daughter of the late Elwood and the late Lyreen (Smith) Pine. Carol grew up in Almont. She was a graduate of Almont High School, Class of 1948. Carol married Willard Lee Winslow on September 11, 1948 in Capac, MI. Carol and Willard moved to Imlay City and have lived in the area for 71 years.
She was a homemaker and farmer’s wife, raising the family, helping around their dairy and cattle farm, and tending to the chickens and sheep.
Carol was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Altar Guild, choir, and a Sunday school teacher. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society and a Red Cross volunteer.
She is survived by her husband, Willard Lee Winslow; three daughters, Sheryl Laidlaw of Shelby, MI, Luanne Valdez of Sterling Heights, MI and Nancy (Keith) Storm of Lansing, MI; her son, Gary (Adele) Winslow of Imlay City, MI; 13 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.
Carol was preceded in death by parents, Elwood and Lyreen Pine; her son-in-law, Gordon Valdez; brother, Elwood Pine; infant sister, Sharon Pine; and her great-grandson, Dante Gonzales.
A Memorial Service will be held 11:30 a.m., Saturday, September 28, 2019 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 200 N. Cedar St., Imlay City, MI. Reverend Alan Casillas, pastor of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, will officiate.
The family will be available for visitation 10-11:30 a.m., Saturday, September 28 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Those wishing to make a memorial contribution may direct them to St. Paul’s Lutheran Memorial Fund.
