, a longtime member of the Almont community, went home to be with the Lord, September 8, 2019 at home. She was born June 5, 1928 in Romeo, MI the daughter of Kenneth and Thelma (Henderson) Wilson of Allenton. After graduating from Almont High School in 1945 she attended Virginia Farrell School of Beauty in Detroit.
On November 30, 1946 she married her high school sweetheart, Charles Hough, at West Berlin Methodist Church in Allenton, MI. The family farm on 37 Mile Road became their home. Her roles changed through the years, but one of her favorites was driving a truck to the Eastern Market with Charles. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Using her gift of hospitality, she would entertain family, friends and friends of family, frequently ending the meal with a slice of apple pie.
She was a member of First Congregational Church of Almont, serving as a children’s Sunday school teacher and helping with the women’s group.
She is survived by son, Kenneth of Almont, daughter, Barbara (Steven) Halanski of Warren and son, William (Truly) Hough of Coppell, TX; grandchildren, Steven (Stephanie) Halanski of New Baltimore, Dr. Matthew (Dr. Amy) Halanski of Cross Plains, WI, Nathan (Irene) Hough of White Pigeon, Jean Biondo of Macomb, Dr. Mary (Ryan) Rieger of San Diego, Abbie Hough of Coppell, TX, and Ezekiel Hough of Coppell, TX; and great-grandchildren; Stephen, Sara and Sean Halanski, Ell, Ava and Amelia Halanski, Emily Hough, Mia and Ben Biondo, and Miles Rieger.
She was predeceased by her husband Charles Hough; brother, Elwood (Marcie) Wilson; and grandson, Samuel Hough.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society. Visitation will be held Monday, September 16, 2019 from 3-8 p.m. at Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Almont and Tuesday, September 17 from 10-11 a.m. at the First Congregational Church in Almont with Funeral Service at 11 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow in Almont-Hough Cemetery.
