CAPAC — The Capac varsity football team continues to seek their first win for the 2019 campaign following a 19-0 loss to visiting non-league counterpart Caro last Friday night.
With the outcome, Capac now stands at 0-2 this season.
In Friday’s contest, Capac spotted Caro a 7-0 edge after one quarter was done.
The next two quarters would prove scoreless.
Caro then outscored Capac 12-0 from that point on, pulling out a 19-0 victory.For the night, Joe Montney completed one of two pass plays for two yards as Capac’s quarterback. He threw one interception along the way.
Jared Fahley (one for one for one yard) and Jordan Cherry (zero of two) were the other Capac players who opted to air out the football.

Ethan Bastian (one catch two yards) and Cherry (one reception for a yard) secured Capac’s accurate tosses.
The Capac ground attack managed 58 yards on 30 totes.
Individually, Cherry headlined for Capac. He rushed the ball 15 times for 63 yards. The remaining 15 Chief carries netted a combined five-yard loss.
Bastian (six solos and one assist) and Omar Navarro (four solos and three assists) paced Capac’s defense. Cherry (three solos and three assists) and Bryce Tank (four solos and one assist) supported their performances.
The Capac defense also registered one takeaway. Cherry (a fumble recovery) furnished that.
Capac will look to bounce back this Friday when it goes up against visiting Greater Thumb Conference East rival Harbor Beach. That battle is slated to get underway at 7 p.m.
