, of Imlay City, MI died Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at home surrounded by her loving family. Lillian Lenora Wade was born August 19, 1947 in Irwinville, GA. She was the daughter of the late Dexter Wade and the late Kathleen (Fussell) Moss. Lillian grew up in Georgia and as a teenager she moved to Michigan and has lived most of her life in the Imlay City area. She graduated from Imlay City High School in the early 1980s. She married Robert Nettles in 1968 in Imlay City, MI.
She was employed as a crew leader and supervisor by Vlasic Foods for 40 years before retiring. Lillian was a member of the choir at First Congregational United Church of Christ in Imlay City, MI.
Lillian is survived by her husband, Robert Nettles; three daughters, Lucy Nettles of Imlay City, MI, Lisa Nettles of Imlay City, MI and Patricia “Patty” Nettles of Imlay City, MI; one son, Nathan Wade of Fenton, MI; six sisters: Joanne (Dean) Ford, Annie Patton, Ida Moss, Sandra Moss, Mary Cushingberry and Catherine Moss; two brothers, Alphanso Moss and Rickey (Sue) Moss; and her three grandchildren, Caolan Wade, Tre Harris and Taylor Nettles.
She was preceded in death by her father, Dexter Wade; her mother, Kathleen (Willie) Moss; two brothers, Willie Moss and Tommie Moss; and her two brothers-in-law: Phillip Patton and Hershel Cushingberry, Jr.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, September 6, 2019 at First Congregational United Church of Christ, 275 Bancroft Street, Imlay City, MI. Pastor Dave Forsberg will officiate. Interment will follow at Imlay Township Cemetery.
The family will be available for visitation 2-5 and 6-8 p.m., Thursday, September 5, 2019 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, 225 N. Main Street, Imlay City, MI and 10-11 a.m., Friday, September 6 at First Congregational United Church of Christ.
