John W. Cadwell, 77, of Almont, passed away Sunday August 11, 2019 at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. He was born September 24, 1941, the son of Harold and Emma Jane (Leneway) Cadwell and was raised in Dearborn. He married Carol Parker on February 3, 1961 and together they moved to Dryden in 1970 where they raised their family and were married for 46 years until Carol passed away in 2007. John worked in Tool and Die at many locations until getting a job at General Motors in 1981 where he worked for 24 years until his retirement. He married Martha Bearinger on November 22, 2014 at St. Cornelius Catholic Church in Dryden. He was a member of St. Cornelius Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Council 4556 Our Lady Queen of Peace in Imlay City. John enjoyed woodworking, gardening, golfing and bowling and had a great love of traveling.
He is survived by his wife, Martha; two daughters, Wendy (John) Fisher of Hooks, TX and Kelly (Jimmy) Bock of Auburndale, FL, grandchildren, Cindy Fisher, Kyle Fisher, Jacob Fisher, JJ Bock and McKenzie Bock; great-grandchildren, Jaci, Huntley, Libby, Ryker, Kutter, Hayes and Harper Mae; his siblings, Jane Shambleau, Robert Cadwell, Rachael Ballnik, Rick Cadwell, Bill Cadwell and Melissa Atkins; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Carol; and his son, John.
In lieu of flowers Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
Visitation will be Sunday, August 18 from 3-8 p..m with a Rosary at 7 p.m. at Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Almont and on Monday, August 19 from 9-10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Imlay City with Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Fr. Wayne Ureel will officiate.
