Ardeth Walton, age 92, of Imlay City, MI died Monday, August 12, 2019 at McLaren Lapeer Region Hospital.
Ardeth Mae Deming was born July 25, 1927 in Grand Rapids, MI. She was the daughter of the late Cecil and the late Ethel (Winn) Deming. Her family moved to the Imlay City/Lum area when she was only 2 years old. Ardeth was a graduate of Imlay City High School, Class of 1944. She was the Class Valedictorian. She attended County Normal Teachers School and became a teacher. She taught near Brown City and at Arkdale County School near Lum. She married Norman Eugene Walton on September 15, 1951 in Lum, Michigan.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Eugene Walton on October 19, 2007.
Ardeth worked side-by-side with her husband Norman on their Norm Walton Farms. She was a homemaker and farmer’s wife (helping with all the chores that needed to be done). Ardeth also became the farm bookkeeper. Ardeth was a member of the Lum/Attica Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star; a supporter of the Goodland Township Library, and Seven Ponds Nature Center in Dryden. She regularly attended CrossRoads Baptist Church in Imlay City; and was involved with her family in the International Harvester Collectors Club.
She is survived by two sons, Warren (Janice) Walton of Imlay City, MI and Gary (Judy) Walton of Imlay City, MI; sisters, Evelyn (Joe) Vogel of Montague, MI and Eileen Reynolds of Louisville, KY; and brothers, Carl (Karen) Deming of
Lapeer, MI and Don Deming of Lum, MI. She also had five grandchildren, Shelley (Scott) Williams, Michael (Eva) Jankowske, Robert (Ashley) Walton, Cameron Walton and Julie (Keith) Johnston; and great-grandchildren, Zachary, Joshua, Aydin, and Preston.
The funeral services will be held 11:30 a.m. Saturday, August 17, 2019 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home Of Imlay City, 225 N. Main Street, Imlay City, MI. Pastor Esther Irish, pastor of Columbiaville United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will follow in Arcadia Township Cemetery, Lum, MI.
The Walton family will be available for visiting hours from 4-8 p.m. Friday, August 16 and from 10- 11:30 a.m. Saturday, August 17 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home Of Imlay City, 225 N. Main Street, Imlay City, MI.
