William Carl Behnke, 61, of Almont, passed away Sunday, August 4, 2019, at Wellbridge of Romeo.
He was born January 27, 1958 in Mt. Clemens, the son of the late Roy and Lorraine (Schiebel) Behnke.
As a young boy, Bill worked as a gardener. In 1977, he went to work with the Ford Tractor Company until 1981. 1981 was a big year for Bill as he ran a full time auto repair shop and opened his own scrap yard called “Bills Hauling.” For the next 20 years, Bill did the work that he loved. He enjoyed racing and riding motorcycles, car shows, swap meets and hunting.
Surviving is a sister, Charlotte Manchowski of Shelby Township; and a good friend, Erin Tyson of Capac.
The family honors the memory of William and invites you to visit and share memories Wednesday, August 7, 2019, from 9-11 a.m. at Kaatz Funeral Directors, Capac. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. Rev. Lisa Clark, pastor of Capac United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Capac Cemetery.
