Jane Kaye Fiebelkorn, born April 29, 1946, has gone to join her parents, Melvin and Jessie Fiebelkorn, also of Almont, to be with her Lord in Heaven. She was born in Pontiac and came home to Fox Covert Farm, outside Oxford. The family moved to Almont in the early 1950s; she with her older sister attended Almont Community Schools, Jane graduated in 1964.
Jane worked for 30 years at General Motors Technical Center, after training at Pontiac Business Institute; the last several years was an Executive Assistant in the Physics Research Department. She continued to meet with the Gourmet Club, a group of GM gals, even after retirement, sampling ethnic cuisines at various restaurants.
She was an active member of Almont Literary Club, holding various offices and creating yearly program booklets for 20 or so years. Photography, leather work, needlework, and creating beautiful greeting cards have also been her pastimes.
Her cards will be on display at Frontier Town Arts and Crafts Mall in Romeo through the end of the year.
In lieu of flowers, Jane requested donations be made to Almont Literary Club, which meets at the Almont Congregational Church building.
Memorial service will be held at Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Almont, Saturday July 20, 10 a.m. -12 p.m. for visitation, 12 noon will be the service with Pastor Bill King.
She is survived by sisters, Beth Bastian (Doug) of Michigan and Bonnie Bastian (Bernie) of New Hampshire; nephews, Kurt Bastian (Diane) of the United Kingdom, Stefan Bastian of Florida and Jake Bastian (Maria) of New Hampshire; nieces, Kim Brown of Georgia and Tamara Bennett (Ervin) of New Mexico; and three grand-nephews and nieces and their children.
