Amelia R. “Millie” Lawrence passed away peacefully on July 2, 2019, at the age of 92, at Good Samaritan Hospice in Pittsburgh, PA. She had resided at New Hope Personal Care Home in Pittsburgh since 2015. Millie was born in Grand Rapids, MI and spent most of her life as a homemaker in Imlay City and Applegate, MI.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wade H. Lawrence, and infant son, Craig.
Millie is lovingly remembered by son, Wade (Ann) Lawrence of Pittsburgh, PA and their children, Matthew (Erin) Lawrence, Michael (Jennifer) Lawrence, and Jessica (Wade) Grann, all off Pittsburgh; daughter, Sally (Maynard) Engel of New York City, NY; son, Lee (Diane) Lawrence of Traverse City, MI and their children, Erik Lawrence of Traverse City, MI, Kris (Michele) Lawrence of Denver, CO, and Annika Lawrence of Chicago, IL. She also leaves behind eight great-grandchildren, Hannah, Jack, Michael, Grace, Ben, Alex, Aiden, and Joseph, all of Pittsburgh.
One of Millie’s greatest joys was living in her home on Lake Huron and watching the wildlife as well as the changing seasons. She had a special talent for making greeting cards for every occasion and sending them to friends and loved ones. Everyone who cared for her in her later years commented that she was especially kind and will be dearly missed.
Private services and interment were held at Imlay Township Cemetery.
