., 88, of Port Charlotte, FL and formerly of Capac, passed away Thursday, June 6, 2019 at Bayfront Health, Port Charlotte.
He was born September 8, 1930 in Cave In Rock, IL, the son of the late Henry and Hannah (Stacey) Lewis.
Charles enjoyed the Florida sun and being outside among many things.
Surviving are his two sons, Chuck (Arlaine) Lewis of Port Charlotte, FL and Michael Lewis of Sterling Heights; nine grandchildren; eight great-grand children and one on-the-way; Charles’s second wife, Marge; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Preceding him in death are his first wife, Helen (Drake) Lewis; a brother, Dineen Lewis; and two sisters, Marcella and Frieda.
The family honors the memory of Charles and invites you to visit and share memories Friday, June 21 from 2-8 p.m. at Kaatz Funeral Directors, Capac, with rosary devotion/scripture services at 6 p.m. Rite of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 22 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, with 9:30 a.m. visiting. Fr. Tom Kuehnemund will officiate. Burial will be in Capac Cemetery.
