Evelyn Czuchra, age 89, recently of Romeo, and formerly of Imlay City, MI died Friday, May 31, 2019 at Wellbridge of Romeo. Evelyn Grace Blue was born June 11, 1929 in Detroit, MI. She was the daughter of the late Elmer and the late Verna (Kaszcienski) Blue. She grew up in Detroit and was a graduate of South Eastern High School in Detroit, MI.
Evelyn was a secretary at an insurance company for several years; was a para-pro in the English Department at Flat Rock High School for 10 years. She married Tadeusz “Ted” Czuchra on January 27, 1951 in Detroit, MI. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tadeusz “Ted” Czuchra on April 23, 2004. Evelyn and Ted lived in the Detroit and Flat Rock areas for 22 years before moving to Imlay City where they lived for more than 35 years. She was a past member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Imlay City and Gateway Assembly of God in Imlay City.
She is survived by one son, Robert Czuchra of Imlay City, MI; and a former daughter-in-law, Teresa (Frank) Wood of Imlay City, MI. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Chris (Kristen) Czuchra, Nikki DeMeyers, Maureen Hallead, Erica Britt; and two great-grandchildren, Adeline and Annalise. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Ted; and by her son, Michael.
The funeral services were held on Monday, June 3, 2019 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home Of Imlay City, 225 N. Main Street, Imlay City, MI. Burial followed in Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Imlay City.
