ALMONT — Almont obtained a pair of wins against visiting Yale in a Blue Water Area Conference varsity softball doubleheader last Friday.
In the opener, Almont picked up a 7-2 victory over Yale.
Rachael Schapman (two singles and a double), Olivia Malcolm (three singles), Makayla Gammon (a a single and a double) and Grace Johnson (two singles) proved Almont’s toughest outs. They were backed by Laken Campbell, Hannah Landerschier, Hannah Feys and Samantha Dyer (a single each).
Malcolm was Almont’s pitcher of record. She allowed eight hits over seven innings, struck out seven and walked two.
In the nightcap, Almont registered a 9-0 triumph against Yale.
Sarah Hall (three singles) and Campbell (two singles) led Almont at the plate. Dyer, Feys, Malcolm, Gammon and Johnson (a single apiece) supported their performances.
Malcolm was the winning Almont pitcher. She allowed five hits over seven innings, retired six on strikes and walked none.
