TRI-CITY AREA — The Almont and Capac girls’ track teams took second and fifth, respectively, last Friday at the Green Devil Invite in Brown City.

When the final scores were posted, Brown City’s 172.5 point total set the pace. They were followed by Almont (132.5 points), Kingston (90), Millington (48), Capac (36) and Lakeville (32).

Brandi Brady, pole vault, 7 feet 6 inches; Ashley Santo, discus, 99 feet 2 inches; Valarie Sullivan, 400 dash, 1:07.56; and Katrina Kline, 800 run, 2:45.46; led Almont with firsts.

Hailee McKinney, 100-meter hurdles, 18.74 seconds; Claire Taylor, high jump, 4 feet 6 inches; Autumn Kwierant, pole vault, 7 feet 6 inches; and Emily Kwierant, 400 dash, 1:08.16; gave Almont individual event seconds.

The Almont 800 (Elizabeth Swanger, Gracie Rockey, Sarah Brown and Emily Kwierant) and 1600 (Katrina Kline, Brianna Burchi, Emily Kwierant and Sullivan) relays ranked second as well. They were timed in 2:08.9 and 4:52.9, respectively.

Brady, 100-meter hurdles, 20.03 seconds; and Sullivan, 200 dash, 31.44 seconds; notched Almont’s individual event thirds.

The Almont 400 (Autumn Kwierant, Brady, Taylor and McKinney) and 3200-meter (Heather Fitchett, Molly Kline, Emily Kwierant and Katrina Kline) relays generated thirds as well. They were timed in 58.57 seconds and 11:49.91, respectively.

Sarah Brown, 300 hurdles, 57.41 seconds; gave Almont a fourth.

Molleigh Rinke, pole vault (7 feet) and shot put (27 feet 4 3/4 inches); Taylor, long jump, 13 feet 2 inches; and Molly Kline, 3200-meter run, 14:28.16; supplied Almont’s fifths.

McKinney, long jump, 12 feet 3 inches; Santo, shot put, 26 feet 7 inches; Sullivan, 100 dash, 15.34 seconds; Autumn Kwierant, 100-meter hurdles, 21.13 seconds; and Fitchett, 3200 run, 14:30.52; added sixths to Almont’s cause.

Lilly Rodriguez, 800 (2:47.32) and 1600-meter (6:01.37); paced Capac with a pair of seconds.

Abigail Aldrich, shot put, 29 feet 6 inches; and Lilly Rodriguez, 3200 run, 13:23.91; contributed Capac’s thirds.

Capac also received fourths from Madelaine Dietrich, 100-meter dash, 14.86 seconds; and Juliana Closurdo, 200 dash, 31.91 seconds.
