America’s Got Talent performer comes to Imlay City June 14-15

IMLAY CITY — Organizers of the 2019 Michigan Busker Fest are putting the final touches on their entertainment lineup to happen in downtown Imlay City on June 14-15.

Listed among the entertainers scheduled to return for the 2nd Annual Busker Fest are Sam Malcomb, Tony Steinbach, Allez-Oops, Mike Davis and the Ohio Burn Unit.

Snap Boogie coming

They will be joined this year by “Snap Boogie,” a talented young dancer who gained fame through his appearances on the “America’s Got Talent” television show.

Born and raised in Boston, Snap Boogie was 18 years old in 2011 when he auditioned as a dancer on America’s Got Talent.

His audition consisted of dancing to C+C Music Factory’s “Gonna Make You Sweat.”

ACT Judges Piers Morgan, Sharon Osbourne and Howie Mandel unanimously voted to send Snap to that season’s Vegas Round.

During the Vegas Round he was again one of the judges’ favorites in the “dance act” category.

‘Snap Boogie’ does his thing in front of crowd in his hometown of Boston, Mass.

His performance consisted of dancing and “popping” while performing tricks such as slow-motion dancing.

Artist’s background

Coming from one of Boston’s toughest neighborhoods, Snap Boogie was able to avoid trouble as a youth by focusing on and developing his dancing skills.

He got his name “Snap Boogie” from his late uncle; a former break dancer who passed the torch to him.

Inspired by his uncle and others, he would spend many hours at home practicing and creating his own style of choreography.

Over time, he was able to develop his innate talents and refine them with newly-learned skills to become a top Boston “freestyle” dancer.

He honed his talents further by performing and entertaining crowds in the streets of his hometown.

Example to youth

Having achieved some success and celebrity during Season Six of America’s Got Talent, Snap Boogie now strives to set a positive example for other young people, by encouraging them to work hard and to cultivate their unique skills and passions.

And as a Busker, he continues to build his personal legacy of entertaining people through dance.
