The Lapeer Chapter of the Michigan Association of Retired School Personnel (MARSP) meets at noon at the Lapeer Center on the third Monday of April, May, June, September, October and November for a catered meal, brief business meeting and program. Visitors and new members are welcome. Reservations are required and may be made by contacting Jim Mikus at jmikus2001@yahoo. 

At each meeting members bring items to be donated to a local charity or school. In April the following items were collected and donated to Dryden Elementary School.

Members through their dues also support a scholarship awarded to a graduate of a Lapeer County high school each year. Local dues also support the MARSP Defense of Benefits Fund and whenever a member dies a memorial contribution to the MARSP Foundation supports scholarships to public school employees who are still working and wish to further their education.
