ALMONT — Almont defeated visiting Algonac twice in a Blue Water Area Conference varsity baseball doubleheader on Tuesday, April 23.

In the opener, Almont secured a 3-1 victory over Algonac.

Colton Kruse led Almont with a pair of singles. The Raiders also received a single each from Adam Campbell and Reis Stine.

Cameron Asaro was Almont’s pitcher of record. He registered 10 strikeouts over his stint of 6 2/3 innings.

In the nightcap, Almont registered a 6-2 triumph against Algonac.

Jack Paupert (two singles and a triple) plus Josh Hellebuyck and Campbell (a pair of singles apiece) put up Almont’s top plate credentials. They were backed by Jace Rinke and Parker Zisler (a single each).

Stine was the winning Almont pitcher, striking out six along the way.
