Edna Coon, age 97, of North Branch, MI died Monday, April 15, 2019 at her home. Edna Mae Baker was born December 8, 1921 in Detroit, MI. She was the daughter of the late Archibald and
the late Beatrice (Snowball) Baker. She grew up and attended school in Detroit, MI. She married Richard Coon on April 2, 1949 in Detroit, Michigan. They moved to Dryden by Seven Ponds after marrying and have lived in the area since. Edna was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Coon in January 1977.
She was mostly a homemaker, raising her family. Edna worked as a house cleaner for private residences for a period of time.
Edna was a full-time grandmother. She loved to make people laugh.
She is survived by three daughters, Judith (Jeff) Guenther of Curtis, MI, Cindi (Frederick “Jim”) Mae Wood of North Branch, MI and Rachel Warnars of Royal Oak, MI; 10 grandchildren; and her 9 great-grandchildren.
Edna was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Coon; her daughter, Susan Coon; and her siblings.
Cremation has taken place. No plans for a memorial have been made at this time.
