TRI-CITY AREA — Jacob Rayl shot a 40 over nine holes, leading the Almont boys’ golf team to a first-place finish Monday at a Blue Water Area Conference Jamboree Tournament.

Timberwood Golf Course, in Armada, served as the tournament venue.

Almont’s winning total was a 176 that day. They were followed by Yale (179), North Branch (192), Armada (207), Imlay City (213), Richmond (214) and Cros-Lex (323).

Thomas Manko and Jack Jellison (a 44 each) supplied the next best Almont nine-hole rounds. The Raiders also counted Joe Berger’s 48.

Garrett Roberts paced Imlay City with a 47. He was backed by Mitch Allen (50), Andy Hintz (55) and Quintin Zinger (61).
