Fundraiser supports June 14-15 event in Imlay City
IMLAY CITY/LUM — The bidding was lively at Saturday’s (April 6) 2019 Busker Fest Auction at Castle Creek Golf Club.
Sponsored by the Imlay City Area Chamber of Commerce, money raised from the evening’s silent and live auctions will go toward the costs associated with the 2019 Michigan Busker Fest on June 14-15.
Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Shannon Hamel reported Monday that the total bid numbers amounted to more than $17,000.
Hamel thanked the auctioneers, Brian Rowley and Ray Krakowski, for donating their services for the evening.
“It was really a nice night,” said Hamel. “We had a lot of fun and the auctioneers did a great job of keeping the bidding moving.

“Attendance was down a little from last year,” she said, “but everybody who was there seemed to have a great time.”
Hamel acknowledged the efforts of this year’s Busker Fest Auction Committee, which consisted of Dennis Collison, Angel Lawlor, Barb Yockey, Frank Demske and Kim Jorgensen.
“The committee was essential to putting the event together,” said Hamel. “Thanks especially to our generous sponsors and donors, and to all those who came out on Saturday to bid on items.”
She also acknowledged the assistance and support of volunteers, Chris Newton, Leah Mills, Karen Johnson, Rob Mette and Ian Kempf.
“The event could not have been a success without everyone’s help,” Hamel said.
