Donald “Dick” Howe, 77, of Almont, passed away at his home on Thursday March 21, 2019. He was born March 4, 1942 in Almont, the son of John and Isabell (Brown) Howe. He was class president of the graduating class of 1960 at Almont High School and married his wife of over 55 years, Gloria Hoisington, on August 31, 1963. Dick had worked at Pontiac Motors for five years then dedicated the rest of his life to the family farm both milking cows and growing crops, working hand in hand with his son Mike. He was a member of the Michigan Milk Producers Association.
He is survived by his two children, Traci (Jerry) Pewinski of Almont and Mike (Angie) Howe of Almont; grandchildren, Amanda (Joe) DeHondt of Berlin, Daniel (Cierra Wilcox) Howe of Almont, John Pewinski of Almont, Jacob Pewinski of Almont and Emily Pewinski of Almont; and one sister, Jacqueline Bishop of Bloomingdale, MI.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Gloria, in 2018.
Funeral services were held Monday, March 25 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Almont. Rev. Curtis Clarke of the West Berlin United Methodist Church officiated. Burial followed in West Berlin Cemetery.
