DRYDEN TWP. — Witness the transition between seasons this month at Seven Ponds Nature Center. Staff have filled the March calendar with all kinds of activities and learning opportunities for visitors of all ages.

•Coyote Song on Saturday, March 9 from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m.
You might have been fortunate to hear the coyotes singing to one another at the start of the year, as this was their serenade to find love. Now they are preparing for the arrival of their pups, and the start of a new generation. The program starts indoors and ends with a sunset hike looking for signs of them. If attendees are lucky they will hear them sing! Please pre-register by March 8.
•Shamrock Planter Building on Sunday, March 17 from 2- 4:00 p.m.
Erin go Bragh! Come out and create a special planter that you will fill with shamrocks to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. Cost is $5 per person. Please pre-register as space is limited.
•Yoga at the Ponds on Wednesdays, March 20-April 24 from 6 – 7 p.m.
The “Peaceful Moon” series is designed for newcomers and beginning yoga students and/or those who wish to become re-acquainted with the practice. Drop in fee is $10; register for the entire six-week series for $50. Call the center at 810-796-3200 to register.
•Wee-Readers: “What Joe Saw” by Anna Grossnickle Hines on Saturday, March 23 at 11 a.m.
Join staff for storybook time as the group discovers all the things an inquisitive boy finds on his walk in nature. After the story attendees will take their own walk and have a fun scavenger hunt along the way. This program is geared towards 3 to 6 year old children. Please call the nature center to sign up.
•Seven Ponds Annual Meeting on Saturday, March 23 at 9 a.m.
All Seven Ponds members are welcome to review the center’s activities for the past year, honor outgoing board members, and elect new board members and officers.
•Self-Care in Nature Series: Journaling in Nature on Saturday, March 30 at 2 p.m.
Grab a favorite pen and a cup of coffee and head out to immerse yourself in nature. Participants can use this time to rejuvenate their minds and bodies. Please call to pre-register.
This is the first in a series of three Self-Care in Nature series events. On April 6, learn how to make homemade body care items and on April 13 a soap making for beginners class is planned. More details will be forthcoming for these events.
•Craft Day on Sunday, March 31 from 1 – 2:00 p.m.
Celebrate the coming of spring with a season-themed craft or two. Fun for the whole family!
