CAPAC — Capac outlasted visiting Memphis, 66-58, in a Greater Thumb Conference East varsity boys’ basketball game last Friday night.

With the outcome, Capac improves their mark to 12-6 and 8-2.

In Friday’s game, Capac took a 15-14 edge after one quarter and increased their advantage to 32-27 at the halftime break.

When play resumed. Capac continued to pull away. Aided by an 18-17 third quarter edge, the Chiefs went up 50-44 with 24 minutes gone.

Capac then outscored Memphis 16-14 the rest of the way, assuring

themselves of a 66-58 win at game’s end.

Jordan Hellmuth (27 points), Trevor Boers (22) and Jakob Sawyers (11) led Capac with double figure point outputs. Hank Barker (six points) reached the scoring column as well.

Hellmuth and Boers (six each) furnished Capac’s highest assist totals.

Capac also received 19 rebounds and five blocked shots from Boers.
