IMLAY CITY — Imlay City came out on top of a 37-26 outcome versus host Almont in a Blue Water Area Conference varsity girls’ basketball clash last Wednesday night.

With the result, Imlay City goes to 11-5 and 8-2. Almont falls to 3-13 and 0-11.

In Wednesday’s clash, Imlay City jumped out to a 12-4 advantage after one quarter was over with.

The middle two quarters saw Imlay City generate 21 total points and Almont manage 14. That left them holding a 33-18 advantage with 24 minutes elapsed.

Almont then put together an 8-4 fourth quarter rally, only to fall 37-26 at night’s end.

Ana Lengemann paced Imlay City with 10 points, including a pair of trifectas. The Spartans also had Mary Lengemann (seven points, featuring a trey), Abigail Thibodeau (seven), Kayla Rossen (five) plus Kayla Louwsma and Kendall Sommer (four each) connect.

Brandi Kautz (10 points) led Almont that evening. The Raiders also received points courtesy of Hannah Revoldt (seven points, with a triple), Hannah Landerschier (six) and Grace Johnson (a trifecta).
